I’m Richard L. Winget, I’ve been creating realistic rockwork projects across the world since 1986. I’ve worked on projects from beautiful natural residential pools to enormous futuristic theme parks to hyper-realistic zoo environments. I love the art of using man-made materials and turning them into something so realistic that it is almost impossible to tell the difference between our creations and mother nature’s own work!
I hope this site gives you a good idea of who I am, the work I do, and the kinds of creative ideas we’d love to design and build for you. Thank you.
“Our inspiration comes from the natural world. We use traditional tools and materials in unique artistic ways to get the look and feel required for a captivating and naturalistic environment.”
I’ve had the pleasure of working on a variety of projects throughout my career, in a wide variety of industries and settings. Bringing a fresh and unique creative perspective to new projects is one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist. Below are some of the most prominent and common settings and types of projects I create realistic natural environments for. If you have questions about your own project, or if you don’t see anything similar here, please reach out. We’d love to talk to you about your creative and constructive needs.
These are photos of some of my favorite projects. I love each of these for different reasons, and I feel like they collectively give a good idea of the variety and creativity that can come through in these kinds of projects. The realism, the unique expressions, solutions to challenges, and the beauty of the finished product are all things that make realistic rockwork such an impactful medium. I hope you enjoy the photos.

I love all the beautiful work students in our industry are producing! Beautiful mock ups, wonderful examples of wood and rock and even beautiful coloring. Working in controlled environments however does not teach a student or group of students how to deal with adversity in the field, this, in my humble opinion is failure to train properly. We have a lot of good trainers out there, many which bring students...Read More
Chaos applies to rockwork construction in a variety of ways, from armature all the way thru to sculpture and finish paint. Mother nature is a busy girl constantly changing things with all the forces she has at her disposal. Wind, rain, seismic activity and heat all have an impact on nature and in order to simulate nature effectively we have to use these activities to get the look and feel...Read More
